Birmingham 21-11-09. The meeting Final, and also the final race of the 2009 season. Without any shadow of doubt, easily the best race of the night, if not the year. The drivers certainly looked like they wanted to see out the 2009 season with a real show for the fans… and they didn’t disappoint. With his engine problem fixed, Stuart Smith Jnr is back on track. Keen to make up for missing his heats earlier, Smith waste’s no time in dishing out the front bumper, which has seen so much use ……

Birmingham 21-11-09 Grand National Championship meeting. The last meeting on the Brisca F1 fixture for 2009, and what a way to bow out ! The meeting looked likely to be a washout, however with the rain stopping just before the meeting got under, the fans were treated to some good old fashioned Stock Car Racing. The meeting started with the Grand National Championship and 23 cars took to the very slippery track. Without completeing a lap, a gaggle of cars slid into the turn4 Armaco casuing ……

Coventry 5-9-09 GN Easily the best race of the meeting, and for most, this was the last shale race before the World Final meeting. Wainman Jnr finds himself spun out of contention within a couple of laps. Tim Farrell, with the bit between his teeth, dishes out some front bumper, but his escapades are brought to an abrupt end after a tangle with Mark Woodhull. Stu Smith Jnr was clearly on a mission, but ran out of laps before he could catch race winner Steve Cayzer and runner-up NZ1 Malcolm ……

Coventry 7-11-09 Ht2. With the grid made up with Yellow and Blue grades, the guys on-track put on a real show with the season drawing to a close. Some pretty hefty bumper-work being dished out, there was plenty of action to be seen. 302 Jim Bamford was unfortunate to clip an in-field tyre, and with a tap from Neil Scothern, barrel rolled entering turn1. Plucky Bamford landing on all four wheels, then fired up his motor, and tried to re-join the race, but as the Yellow Flag’s had been thrown ……

Last race of the night was a special Racer’s Bonus Race. Any driver having won a race at any meeting throughout the 2009 season, was eligable to enter. With 12 cars taking to the grid, and £1000 up for grabs, it was anyone’s race… Frankie Wainman Jnr continued to have the bad luck of recent weeks, and with having trouble with his own car, took to using brother Danny’s car for this race, only to score yet another DNF. The £1000 purse certainly grabbed the drivers attention… Plenty of ……

The race was brought under caution to assist Mark Clayton who had crashed out in turn1. Ex-F1 Racer Nick Houghton leads, Frankie Wainman Jnr, Garry Utley and Andy Smith on the re-start. Wainman passes Houghton with Smith following, Smith takes a lunge at Wainman and goes wide, allowing Houghton back through into second. Houghton sees a chance to take back the lead, and piles Wainman into the stranded Clayton car. Going into the last lap, Houghton goes a little wide, allowing Smith to pass on ……

Birmingham 22-8-09. The meeting Final from Birmingham Wheels. Stuart Smith Jnr meant business in this one. Carl Pickering fancies his chances to snatch back the lead, and punts SSJ wide going into turn1. However, this was short lived and the compliment re-paid one lap later. Andy Smith also had trouble passing Pickering when he eventually caught up with him, and lost a lot of ground dealing with the Yellow grade racer. A great race, from a great venue….

Scunthorpe 25-7-09 GN Final winner Andy Smith obviously fancied his chances around the Scunthorpe shaleway, and opted to take the Handicap. With a Yellow flag caution, Smith was brought into contention, lining up in the pack for the re-start. However, Smith’s luck ran out when trying to pass Frankie Wainman Jnr. Prooving 5 into 1 doesn’t go, Wainman Jnr, Smith, Mark Woodhull, Craig Finnikin and Danny Wainman all charge into turn1, resulting in Wainman Jnr spinning and collecting Smith and ……

Coventry 2-5-09 Ht2. After a good weekends racing at Kings Lynn, Wainman Jr looked like he was wanting continue with his good form. However, Geoff Nickolls was out in front and was to prove just a little too hard for Wainman to overcome, and took a well deserved victory….

Heat1 from Coventry 2-5-09. Stu Smith Jnr kicked off the meeting winning the opening race for the mighty F1′s. Early challenges from Mark Gilbank, Paul Harrison and Tom Harris failed to dislodge Smith. Unlucky race leader, young Joe Booth suffered a flat rear outside tyre with a couple of laps left to run, handing the lead and ultimately the win to Smith….

Kings Lynn 31-10-09 Final. Murray Harrison takes a convincing win, although there was a brief moment of debate at the start line after the race. With the tyre contract for Hoosier’s now finished, Harrison had no option but to use the in-coming tyre from new supplier Goodyear. Everything was deemed legal and above board, as explained by second placed man, World Champion Andy Smith, so Harrison took the win. Smith, full of praise for Harrison, said the Goodyears must have been working well, as ……

Kings Lynn Fina 18-9-09l. The night before the World Final, and every driver out there appeared to be giving it their all. A coming together in turn2 see’s Jim Bamford and dutch driver’s H35 Fred Hink , H61 Koen Maris and H64 Richard Talsma all pile into the armaco, with Talsma ending up stranded on top of the armaco. After loosing out on a heat win to Stu Smith Jnr, John Lawn survived a last bend attack from Andy Smith to take the win. Stuart Smith Jnr opted to load up after his heat win ……

Sheffield 25-10-09 Ht1. Paul Hines continues his present form, and snatches back second place from Andy Smith, nipping up the inside, going into the last bend. In only his second meeting of 2009, Craig Utley collects the fence, spinning out, and taking an un-fortunate Ricky Wilson in the process. The race is brought under caution to remove Utley from his precarious position, and Wilson who was facing the on-coming cars… Yellow Top Neil Shenton leads the re-start, with the flying Paul Hines ……

Scunthorpe 24-10-09 Ht2. Wainman Jnr needing to at least match Stuart Smith Jnr, if not out out-score him to keep his chase for the Silver Roof on track. In this one, Wainman Jnr could only manage third, failing to catch the Neachell boys before the Chequered Flag came down. Although the Starter drops the flag on 321 Ed Neachell, the winner, 322 James Neachell had alreadyy gone by… Maybe a trip to Specsavers was needed by the Starter, LOL. 101 Dave Waterhouse does his best to spoil my ……

Sheffield 25-10-09 Final. The Final was designated as the Brisca Supreme, and a race that Wainman Jnr really needed to apply the pressure on a very much “on-form” Stuart Smith Jnr. With the Shoot-Out entrants at the back of the grid, it was to be a dominant display of Stock Car Racing from Paul Hines. Hines clearly the fastest man on track, and using the front bumper to great effect on his charge to the front, and again fighting to keep his position. Wainman Jnr failed to do what many ……

Heat1 from the Hot Stox, which were in support for the F1′s, and once again, never fail to disappoint in action. Towards the end of the race, the track starts to break up in turn1, creating a large rut. Most drivers manage to avoid this obstacle, but every now and again, it catches one out ! Ultimately, the continued pounding from the Hot Stox and F1′s, the rut gradually got worse, and the Coventry Promotion had to call time on the event. Outstanding races were added to the Sunday event…….

Scunthorpe 24-10-09 Ht3. World Champion Andy Smith charges through the field, and looks set for a race win, but a tangle entering turns3-4 turns Smith’s race on its head. Entering turns3-4, Smith tangles with a determined Andy Ford. Smith bounces onto the side of Ford, and both take a trip onto the in-field. Smith and Ford re-join, but are at the back of the field. Smith had a lot of work to do to make up the placing’s, but if anyone was going to do it, it would be Smith. And with the taps ……

Scunthorpe 24-10-09 Final. With the National Series Shoot-Out passing halfway, the end is now in sight. Stuart Smith Jnr scoring very well over this short series, will now surely be sporting the Silver Roof for next season. Young Joe Booth punching well above his grade takes a very well deserved and dominant win. World Champion Andy Smith crashes out after tangling with fellow Shoot-Out rival Mark Gilbank ;- ), which leaves brother Stuart to slug it out with FWJ. A great battle develops ……

Once again, the un-fortunate 258 Rob Harrad fails to complete a lap, but he does supply an opportunity to capture some footage to add to YouTube ! One of these days, you will go round twice before it all goes pear shaped !!!…

Kings Lynn 15-8-09 Final. With the next visit to Kings Lynn for the F1′s being the World Final, it seems that some were practising the art of using the front bumper, and with good effect too in some cases. A very much on-form Joff Gibson notches up another race win, and bags himself a healthy haul of points for the night….

Final Northampton 20-9-09. The last but one race of an action packed three day weekend for the Mighty F1′s. There’s no shortage of action in this one. Stu Smith Jnr seemed to be having a particularly tough time, and has a major coming together with the turn3-4 armaco and H007 Dave Schaap. Ryan Harrison leads for much of the race, before succombing to a hard charging Tom Harris, followed by Craig Finnikin and Mark Gilbank. Harrison was to finish fourth, with Dan Johnson in fifth…….

Coventry 2-5-09 Ht3. Andy Smith initially took the win, but then was docked two places for jumping the start. This gave second man across the line Dan Squire an unexpected race win. Mark Woodhall took second, Smith after being docked took third, with first time out as a SuperStar Daniel Johnson a very creditable fourth….

Birmingham 22-8-09 GN The Grand National was brought under caution, with barely two laps run. Stuart Smith Jnr declined to take the Lap Handicap, and appeared to be the fastest man on track. Smith managed to keep Wainman Jnr out of striking distance all race long, but just couldn’t catch race winner, Craig Finnikin before the chequered flag….
